Athlete’s foot

Have you tried everything to get rid of your athlete’s foot?Athlete’s foot is a fungal infection of the feet, or between the toes. Young children and adults who perspire heavily in their feet are most at risk for this type of infection. Athlete’s foot is usually red, scaly, and itchy. It can be contagious if you scratch your skin and then touch someone else. It may also spread to other parts of the body like the groin area if you scratch in that area and then touch another person’s skin with your fingers (or vice versa). At Calgary Foot Care Nurses, we can help you determine if you have an athlete’s foot or if you have other skin conditions such as dermatitis. Depending on the severity of the infection, the doctor may prescribe prescription-strength cream or ointment and may prescribe an oral antifungal pill.
