Bunions

A bunion is a medical term for enlargement of the joint at the base of the big toe. This occurs when the first metatarsal bone in the foot becomes enlarged, pushing it outwards to meet with other toes, or when the tissue that connects the toe to the foot becomes inflamed. The pain caused by bunions can be uncomfortable and sometimes even debilitating. At Calgary Foot Care Nurses, we can recommend padding or inserts for your shoes, medications, and if the severity of your symptoms is severe, our Doctor can help. If your bunions cause you unbearable pain at our clinic the doctor can recommend anything from injections to surgical options.
